World Environment Day observed with awareness walk in Sialkot

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2026) The World Environment Day was observed in Sialkot on Friday with an awareness walk, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abbas Zulqarnain at the Deputy Commissioner's Office.

According to district administration officials, officers and staff of the Environment Protection Department, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), Rescue 1122, district administration and a large number of citizens participated in the walk.

Abbas Zulqarnain said the purpose of observing World Environment Day was to raise awareness about environmental protection, tree plantation and the sustainable use of natural resources.

He said climate change posed a serious global challenge and required collective efforts to address its impacts.

Later, participants planted saplings in the Deputy Commissioner's Office lawn and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a clean, green and pollution-free environment for future generations.
