FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) World Firefighters’ Day was observed in Faisalabad with great enthusiasm on Monday as Rescue 1122 organized an awareness walk to pay tribute to brave fire rescuers and highlight fire safety measures while special prayers were offered for the elevation of ranks of martyrs and the country’s security.

According to a spokesperson of Rescue 1122 Faisalabad, the day was marked in line with global observance on May 04 to acknowledge the unwavering courage, dedication and sacrifices of firefighters who risk their lives to protect humanity during fire emergencies and other hazardous incidents.

An awareness walk was organized under the aegis of Rescue 1122 Faisalabad, which witnessed participation of District Emergency Officer Engineer Ehtesham Wahla, senior rescue officials, fire rescuers, firefighters and a large number of staff members.

At conclusion of the walk, special prayers were offered for the martyrs of rescue services, seeking higher ranks for them and peace, stability and security for the country.

Addressing the participants, District Emergency Officer Engineer Ehtesham Wahla said that World Firefighters’ Day is dedicated to honoring the courage, sacrifice and professional services of firefighters who, without caring for their own lives, ensure the protection of lives and property of others in times of crisis.

He said that the day not only recognizes the invaluable services of fire rescuers but also plays a vital role in creating public awareness about fire prevention and safety measures.

He emphasized that International Firefighters’ Day serves as a reminder that collective efforts are essential to prevent fire incidents and minimize losses caused by such emergencies.

Reaffirming commitment, he said that Rescue 1122 personnel would continue to serve the public with professional excellence, dedication and a strong spirit of service, ensuring timely response to emergencies and safeguarding lives and property across the district.
