RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) A ceremony was organized by the Christian community in connection with Youm-e-Takbeer, where speakers highlighted Pakistan’s nuclear programme, national security, defence sovereignty and stability.
Tahira Aurangzeb, MNA was the chief guest, while Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab Shazia Rizwan and Parliamentary Secretary for Health Asma Abbasi were also present. A large number of political, social and religious figures, including Kashif Yousaf, Pervaiz Sahotra, Younas Aftab Sandhu, Nadeem Gil, Iftikhar Minhas and Malik Ahsan Numberdar, along with PML-N workers, attended the event.
Addressing the ceremony, Tahira Aurangzeb said that May 28, 1998, was a historic and unforgettable day when Pakistan conducted nuclear tests, making the country’s defence invincible and asserting its sovereignty and dignity at the global level.
She said that Youm-e-Takbeer symbolizes the unity, determination and national pride of the Pakistani nation and serves as a reminder to remain united for the protection of national interests.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>She added that Pakistan’s nuclear programme is a strong guarantee of national defence and has played a key role in maintaining strategic balance in the region. She paid tribute to the martyrs, scientists and national leaders whose contributions made Pakistan a nuclear power.
Speakers highlighted that Pakistan’s nuclear capability serves as a strong defensive shield against hostile designs. They added that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces and remains ready to make every sacrifice for the country’s security, stability and progress.
The speakers also paid rich tribute to PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for his courageous leadership and historic decision to make Pakistan a nuclear power despite international pressure and economic sanctions.
Participants reaffirmed their resolve to promote national unity and collectively overcome challenges facing the country.
Special prayers were offered at the end of the ceremony for Pakistan’s security, stability, prosperity, national unity and the success of the armed forces.
