Zero tolerance for aerial firing,  Kohat police nab suspects at wedding raid

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2026) In a decisive move against dangerous celebratory gunfire, Kohat police on Monday arrested suspects involved in aerial firing during a wedding ceremony. According to official sources, District Police Officer Shehbaz Elahi reiterated that such reckless and unlawful acts will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The DPO stated that police operations against criminal elements have been significantly intensified across the district. Moreover, he warned that individuals endangering public safety through aerial firing will face strict legal action, as the practice poses a serious threat to lives and property.

Acting on a tip-off, Station House Officer Khizar Fareed led a raid at the wedding venue where suspects were engaged in firing. Police teams promptly reached the spot, successfully apprehended the accused, and recovered weapons from their possession during the operation.

On this occasion, while exclusively talking to APP, The DPO said that such irresponsible activities cannot be allowed to disrupt public peace. Furthermore, he assured that law enforcement agencies will continue vigorously pursuing violators to ensure a safe and secure environment across the district.
