Zero tolerance on women harassment: provincial ombudsperson

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Provincial Ombudsperson Dr Najma Afzal said that strict implementation of the harassment law would be ensured in addition to adopting zero-tolerance policy across Punjab to ensure a safe and dignified working environment for women.

During her maiden visit to Faisalabad after resuming her office, she met Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen and discussed various matter.

During meeting, both sides agreed on taking coordinated steps to safeguard women’s rights and strengthen awareness about workplace conduct.

Personal Staff Officer Hafiz Farooq Anwar and Superintendent Aneela Arshad were also present on the occasion.

The divisional commissioner, on the indication of provincial ombudsperson, stressed the need to display awareness standees regarding the code of conduct in all divisional and district departments including offices of deputy commissioners to promote understanding of workplace ethics and harassment laws.

It was also decided to enhance the capacity of focal persons in various departments through dedicated awareness sessions, which will be organized soon at the Commissioner Office.

Earlier, Dr Najma Afzal visited the regional office of the Provincial Ombudsperson in Faisalabad and interacted with the staff to review working conditions and performance.
