FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) Provincial Ombudsperson Dr. Najma Afzal has stressed zero tolerance against workplace harassment and said that the government is committed to ensure a safe and dignified environment for women.

During her visit to Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FWCCI), he met with chamber’s founder Rubina Amjad, President Shahida Aftab and other office-bearers.

She held an interactive session with women entrepreneurs and business leaders to discuss key issues faced by them.

Dr. Najma Afzal briefed the participants about laws related to workplace harassment and highlighted preventive measures.

She stressed that institutions must adopt effective anti-harassment policies to protect women employees.

A secure and respectful work environment is top priority of the government, she added.

She also elaborated on the role of the ombudsperson office in addressing complaints and said that women can seek legal recourse for protection of their rights and timely redressal of grievances.

FWCCI members presented various proposals for resolving challenges faced by women in business.

The ombudsperson welcomed the suggestions and assured their implementation in consultation with relevant authorities.

Personal Staff Officer Hafiz Farooq Anwar was also present on the occasion.
