Ziqad Moon sighted; 1st Ziqad to fall on Sunday: Ruet-e-Hilal

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) The moon of Ziqad 1447 AH was sighted in Pakistan on Saturday, and the first day of the new Islamic month will fall on Sunday, April 19.

An official told APP that Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad announced the decision after receiving crescent sighting reports from various parts of the country.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, the decision was taken in a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held in Islamabad.

He said that the committee thoroughly reviewed testimonies and verified reports before confirming the sighting of the Ziqad moon.

The 1st of Ziqad 1447 AH will commence from Sunday, April 19, 2026 across the country.
