1,500 personnel performed security duty at 610 mosques: CPO

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Mar, 2026) The police put high alert security on Juma-tul-Wadah and deployed more than 1,500 police officers

and personnel at 610 mosques and Imambargahs across Faisalabad to ensure foolproof

security arrangements.

In a statement here on Friday, City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibada Bilal Umar said that special security measures were adopted in view of the prevailing national situation and large gatherings expected at mosques and other worship places.

He said that additional police personnel were deployed at important mosques, Imambargahs and other religious places while strict checking was carried out at entry and exit points of the city and other sensitive locations.

He said that police teams continued monitoring suspicious individuals while search operations and snap checking were intensified in different areas.

The Elite Force teams were also deployed in all towns of the city and eight special teams were assigned to patrol continuously to deal with any emergency situation during Friday prayers, he added.

He said that biometric verification and checking of complete records were carried out at the pickets and checking points while 44 police mobiles including Eagle Squad and Dolphin Force teams remained on active patrol in their respective areas during Friday prayer timings.

Monitoring through CCTV cameras and Safe City system also continued to ensure effective surveillance and quick response, he added.
