2 killed, several injured in speeding Vigo collision

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) A speeding Vigo vehicle hit pedestrians on the national highway in front of Israa Hospital near Aliabad under Hattri police station limits in Hyderabad, resulting in two deaths and several injuries.

According to Rescue 1122, the command and control room received information at around 6:30pm, on which rescue teams immediately reached the spot and after providing first aid to the injured, they were shifted to Civil Hospital Hyderabad.

The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Ahsan son of Abdul Majeed and 20-year-old Rawal son of Ramesh.

The injured include Sni son of Noor Muhammad (25), Zahida wife of Noor Muhammad (58), Faizan son of Noor Muhammad (27), Harish son of Harji Mal (17), Shakar Din son of Rauf (13), Bashir son of Awal Khan (33) and others, of whom two are said to be in critical condition.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred due to speeding, after which hundreds of people gathered at the spot.

The angry mob first pelted stones at the Vigo vehicle, vandalized it and later set it on fire.

During this, clashes also took place between the police and the protesters, while some people also pelted stones at the Rescue 1122 team and fire vehicle and tried to obstruct the rescue operations.

On receiving information, SSP Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar reached the spot along with a police contingent and brought the situation under control after negotiating with the protesters.

Later, Rescue 1122, in the presence of the police, removed the burning vehicle from the scene using a recovery vehicle and completely restored the road to traffic.

According to the police, the vehicle involved in the accident belongs to a coal trader, Zarnawaz, who has been taken into custody, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
