20 villages to get urban facilities under CM Maryam Nawaz’s ‘Misali Gaon’ initiative

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) 20 villages in district Khanewal have been selected for modernization under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s ‘Model Village (Misali Gaon)’ program, part of her Sohna Punjab vision.

Deputy Commissioner(DC) Maleeha Rasheed chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review ongoing development and ensure smooth implementation.

The program aims to provide villages with water supply,drainage,water treatment,streetlights, footpaths,children’s parks and other basic facilities.

Rasheed instructed assistant commissioners to personally visit each village weekly to monitor progress and ensure timely completion.

She emphasized that the project seeks to give rural areas an urbanized look with modern facilities.

Officials present included assistant commissioners, the deputy director of development, MD WASA, deputy director local government and Misali Gaon project representatives.
