25 illegal security cabins removed from homes in I-9, I-8, G-10

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) The teams of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration have removed 25 illegal security cabins from outside homes in different sectors of the Federal capital as part of an ongoing operation against unauthorized structures.

According to officials, 10 cabins were removed from Sector I-9, six from I-8 and nine from G-10 during the latest drive.

The operation was being carried out on a daily basis in several residential areas of Islamabad to clear public spaces and enforce municipal rules. Officials said the campaign would continue without discrimination against all illegally placed cabins outside houses.

According to the administration, many residents had installed security cabins on roadsides and public areas without permission. Officials said such structures could create problems for traffic flow, pedestrians and municipal management. The administration added that there was no permission to place private security cabins outside homes in residential sectors.

In this regard, teams visited different streets in I-9, I-8 and G-10 and removed cabins that were found to be installed illegally.

Heavy machinery and enforcement staff took part in the operation. Authorities said the action was taken after repeated instructions and notices regarding unauthorized encroachments in residential areas.

Officials appealed to citizens to cooperate with the administration and avoid placing cabins or other structures outside their homes without approval from relevant departments. They said the campaign was not limited to a few sectors and similar action would continue in other parts of the city.

The administration further stated that public land, green belts and roadsides could not be used for personal purposes. Residents were advised to follow civic regulations to avoid legal action and removal operations in the future.

Islamabad authorities said the operation was part of broader efforts to improve road access and maintain public spaces in residential neighborhoods. They added that monitoring teams were conducting regular inspections and more operations were expected in the coming days.

Officials maintained that action against illegal security cabins would continue every day and no area or individual would be exempt from the campaign.
