3 arrested for making bogus call to emergency helpline 15

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Police have arrested three individuals for allegedly making a false call to the emergency helpline 15 here on Wednesday.

According to police spokesman, the suspects jointly called the helpline and claimed that two men had robbed them at gunpoint. Acting swiftly, New Town Police launched an investigation into the alleged robbery.

However, after reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence from other sources, police found that no robbery had taken place.

Instead, the matter turned out to be a financial dispute between the parties.

Investigators confirmed that neither the caller nor his accomplices had been subjected to any robbery.

Police have registered a case against the suspects for misusing the emergency service and taken them into custody.

SP Rawal, Saad Arshad appreciated the police team for their swift action and said that helpline 15 is an emergency facility meant to assist citizens in genuine situations. He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found misusing the service.
