LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Apr, 2026) The 327th Baisakhi festival will be held from April 10 to 19, with over 26,000 pilgrims expected to arrive from across the world, while all arrangements have been finalised to ensure smooth conduct of the event.

A spokesman for the Home Department said on Tuesday that the announcement was made during a meeting held at the Punjab Home Department to review arrangements for the festival. The meeting was chaired via video link by Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique, while Secretary Home Punjab Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi and Secretary Human Rights Usman Ali Khan received briefings from relevant departments.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said the Punjab government has made foolproof arrangements for the festival and would extend warm hospitality to visiting pilgrims in accordance with local traditions. He said special measures are being taken to ensure security and comfortable stay of the pilgrims.

He directed authorities to establish senior citizen counters, additional FIA counters, extra washrooms and heavy-duty generators, besides ensuring extensive arrangements for langar and provision of quality medical facilities.

Luxury buses would be arranged to facilitate transportation of pilgrims to various locations in a timely manner.

Officials of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival, while standard Currency exchange dealers would also be engaged. Air-conditioned marquees have been arranged for the facilitation of pilgrims.

Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi said that foolproof arrangements for accommodation, transport, food and security are being ensured at all locations, directing field officers to personally monitor arrangements.

The meeting was also attended by senior officials of the Home Department, Police, Health, Transport, Rescue 1122, Customs, Federal Investigation Agency, Rangers, Motorway Police and other departments, while divisional and district officers joined via video link and briefed on arrangements.
