DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The Dera Range Police conducted 96 intelligence-based operations during the first four months of 2026, killing 37 terrorists, arresting 25 militants and 400 proclaimed offenders, while also foiling nine major terror attacks across the region.
According to a report issued by police spokesman Waheed Ashar, the Dera Range Police led by Ghulam Mubashir Maken, have intensified intelligence-based operations against terrorists and their facilitators, leading to major successes in counterterrorism efforts.
He informed that the timely intelligence sharing and swift action helped prevent nine major terror incidents in the region.
As part of a broader crackdown on crime, the police initiated legal proceedings against 1,613 suspects involved in various criminal activities, while 58 individuals were arrested for aerial firing and spreading fear among the public.
To maintain law and order, the police carried out 114 large-scale search operations across the range.
During action against illegal weapons, 468 cases were registered and a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered, including 28 Kalashnikovs, 50 rifles, 67 shotguns, 425 pistols, one hand grenade, two knives and more than 227,000 rounds of ammunition.
Police also continued an aggressive anti-narcotics campaign, arresting 269 drug dealers and recovering 192 kilograms of hashish, 26 kilograms of Ice drug, 10 kilograms of heroin, three kilograms of opium and 234 bottles of liquor.
RPO Ghulam Mubashir Maken said that the Dera Range Police would continue indiscriminate action against terrorists and criminal elements, adding that ensuring public safety and lasting peace in the region remained top priority of force.
