4,858 police personnel deployed to guard 890 locations on Eid

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) The police have rolled out a comprehensive security plan for Eidul Fitr 2026 by deploying 4,858 officers and personnel to ensure safety at 890 mosques, imambargahs, open grounds and parks across the district.

According to City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar, the security deployment includes 18 gazetted officers, inspectors and sub-inspectors, 89 assistant sub-inspectors, 466 head constables, and 3,934 constables and lady constables.

He said that special measures have also been taken to ensure smooth traffic flow, with traffic police personnel assigned at key points while dedicated pickets have been established to curb one-wheeling and reckless driving.

Total 82 special pickets would operate on Chand Raat and Eid days in shift-wise duties to prevent any untoward incidents and keep a check on miscreants and criminal elements, he added.

He said that the police presence would be ensured at public places, parks and graveyards while Elite Force, Dolphin Force and women police officials have also been deployed to strengthen security coverage. Similarly, police mobiles and motorcycle squads would carry out intensified patrolling across various areas to enhance vigilance, he added.

He said that foolproof security arrangements have been finalized for Eid-ul-Fitr as protection of citizens’ lives and property is top priority of the police. In this connection, all-out efforts would be made to maintain a peaceful and secure environment throughout the celebrations, he added.
