RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2026) Rawalpindi police have conducted crackdown against violating the Tenancy Act across the city over the past two days and 29 cases have been registered while 44 individuals have been taken into custody for failing to comply with tenancy laws, Police spokesperson said on Saturday.
The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to ensure strict implementation of tenant registration regulations.
The search operations are being conducted across Rawalpindi to enforce the Tenancy Act.
Senior officers are also reviewing tenant registration reports on a daily basis to ensure compliance and accountability.
Police have urged citizens to immediately register their tenants and domestic employees at the relevant police stations, Police Khidmat Markaz, or through the Punjab Police mobile application.
Authorities have further advised the public to report any violations of the Tenancy Act through official social media platforms or at the nearest police station, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
The spokesperson emphasized that failure to register tenants is a punishable offense. In addition, Rawalpindi Police are obtaining verification certificates from union councils, local representatives, chairmen, councilors, and market association heads across the city. Citizens have been strongly urged to ensure immediate registration of tenants and employees to avoid legal action.
