604,000 pilgrims transported by Mashaaer Metro between Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) announced that more than 604,000 pilgrims had been transported through the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro during the first three operational phases of Hajj 1447 AH, including the movement of pilgrims from Arafat to Muzdalifah.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), around 290,000 pilgrims were transported from Arafat to Muzdalifah during the third operational phase of the metro service under a comprehensive transport and crowd-management plan.

The metro system played a major role in ensuring smooth movement of pilgrims between the holy sites during the peak Hajj hours.

SPA told APP that the fourth operational phase later began to transport pilgrims from Muzdalifah to Mina for Eid Al-Adha rituals, including the stoning of Jamrat Al-Aqaba.

Authorities said the operational plan for Mashaaer Metro includes more than 2,000 train trips aimed at transporting over two million passengers throughout the Hajj season.

The metro service continues to reduce pressure on roads and buses while helping pilgrims move safely and efficiently between the holy sites during Hajj obligations.
