65 temporary flood relief camps set up in city

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) The district administration has intensified emergency preparations in view of the possible flood situation and established 65 temporary relief camps across the provincial capital.

According to the district administration, the relief camps have been equipped with accommodation, medical facilities, food and other essential services to provide immediate assistance to citizens during any emergency.

Officials said that 29 camps have been established in Tehsil City, 24 in Shalimar, seven in Model Town, four in Raiwind and one in the Cantt area.

The administration said the relief camps established in five tehsils have an initial capacity to accommodate around 7,000 people. In case of a flood emergency, residents living near riverbanks and vulnerable areas will be shifted to these camps located at safer places.

The district administration has directed relevant departments to remain alert and ensure timely response and provision of facilities to affected citizens.
