70-kgs polythene bags seized,fine imposed

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Mar, 2026) On the directives of District Environment Officer,Usama Majid,the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) carried out enforcement operations across the district to ensure compliance with environmental regulations,here on Tuesday.

According to an EPA spokesperson,teams inspected 35 industrial units and brick kilns,during which one violation was identified and a notice was issued to the concerned unit.

In a parallel campaign against banned polythene bags,the teams conducted 30 inspections,seizing 70 kilograms of polythene bags.A fine of Rs.20,000 was imposed and recovered from violators.

The district environment officer directed officials to ensure strict enforcement of environmental laws and to continue action against violators without exception.
