796 FIRs,133 premises sealed over Anti-Dengue SOP violations

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) The District Administration, in collaboration with allied departments, has sealed 133 premises and registered 796 First Information Reports (FIRs) over violations of anti-dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) from January 1 to date.

District Coordinator Epidemics Prevention and Control (DCEPC) Dr Jawad Ahmed, Saturday, said the authorities had also issued 625 challans and imposed fines amounting to Rs. 1.966 million on violators in different parts of the district.

Giving details of surveillance activities, he said 1,268 anti-dengue teams had conducted indoor inspections at 20,765,061 houses since January 1 and detected dengue larvae at 39,272 homes.

Similarly, during outdoor surveillance, the teams inspected 934,586 locations and found dengue larvae at 46,167 spots, he added.

Dr Jawad Ahmed said only two confirmed dengue cases had been reported in the district so far this year, compared with nine cases during the corresponding period in 2025, 14 in 2024, and eight each in 2023 and 2022.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and monitor junkyards, schools and under-construction buildings, which could become breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes.

The health officer also advised citizens not to allow water to stagnate in or around their homes and workplaces to help prevent the spread of dengue larvae.
