MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) A 90-year-old widow finally received justice after a struggle spanning 56 years when the local administration retrieved her illegally occupied land and restored it to her possession.
The incident took place in Mouza Bait Qaim Wala, Basti Gaadi, in district Kot Addu where the elderly woman’s close relatives, identified as Jahangir and Muhammad Rashid, had allegedly been occupying her one Kanal and three Marlas of land for over five decades.
Despite repeated efforts by local elders and community members over the years, the land could not be vacated.
The widow’s grandson, Ejaz Ahmad, submitted an application to the Assistant Commissioner Kot Addu seeking justice.
Acting promptly, the AC sought a report from the revenue department and it emerged that Jahangir and Muhammad Rashid had no legal ownership or connection with the land and the 90-year-old widow was declared the genuine owner.
The AC directed Qanoongo Maqsood Gujjar and Patwari Shahid Khan Chandia to take action. With the assistance of police, the administration reached the site, removed the illegal occupation, and handed over possession of the land to the rightful owner.
Residents of the area praised the Assistant Commissioner’s efforts, saying the elderly widow had finally received justice after 56 years of hardship and legal struggle.
