ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) A 9th Muharram procession of Alam-o-Zuljannah was taken out on Thursday morning from the rural locality of Sheen Bagh, Attock, under tight security.
The procession was launched from various residences, including those of Adalat Shah and Maulana Imran Bukhari, and was attended by a large number of mourners who participated in Noha recitation, chest beating (matam), and zanjeer zani.
Water, milk, and food stalls (sabeels) were set up along the route by Malik Hameed Akbar, Malik Shehzad Akbar, and other local residents to serve the mourners. A dedicated mobile medical team from DHQ Hospital and Rescue 1122 was also deployed to provide on-the-spot medical assistance.
The procession peacefully concluded at Imambargah Hussainia Sheen Bagh, after which a Majlis-e-Aza was held. During the gathering, noted Zakireen highlighted the supreme sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) and condemned the brutality of Yazidi forces at Karbala.
They said Imam Hussain (A.S) symbolizes a profound philosophy and a way of life that clearly distinguishes between truth and falsehood. The tragedy of Karbala continues to inspire mankind to uphold righteousness, truth, and resistance against oppression.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>On the occasion, ADCG Anil Saeed, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Arif Qureshi, Police Officials, TMO Sardar Aftab, In charge Sabeel Amir Illyas, and other officials from law enforcement agencies were present to supervise security.
According to police sources, a total of 96 processions and 684 Majalis have so far been held peacefully across the district without any untoward incident.
Furthermore, police sources confirmed that on Ashura (Friday), 49 more processions and 70 Majalis are scheduled to be held in various parts of Attock district. The main Ashura procession will be taken out from Imambargah Hussainia Kamalpur Syedan, Attock Cantonment, in the morning, and will conclude at Karbala Haleem Shah in the evening.
District authorities have placed fire brigades, civil defense, bomb disposal squads, hospitals, and Edhi centers on high alert for Ashura. Emergency wards have been instructed to remain fully prepared, ensuring the presence of ambulances and medical staff along all major procession routes.
