Balochistan CM and Corps Commander review Ashura security arrangements in Quetta

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) On the occasion of 10th Muharram, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Corps Commander Balochistan Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan visited the Central Police Office in Quetta to review security measures for Youm-e-Ashura.

At the Data Command and Communication Center, they monitored live camera feeds covering processions, majalis, and security arrangements across Quetta and other districts of the province. Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir Khan, briefed the officials on the comprehensive security plan, noting that 32,000 police personnel had been deployed across the province. He added that Frontier Corps Balochistan, the Pakistan Army, and other law enforcement agencies were fully cooperating to ensure peace and security.

Chief Minister Bugti emphasized that maintaining law and order during Ashura was the government’s top priority, with all available resources being utilized to safeguard lives and property. He highlighted the coordinated efforts of police, FC, army, and other agencies, which were working in harmony to guarantee the peaceful conduct of processions and gatherings.

He praised the professional capabilities and dedication of security forces, acknowledging their sacrifices in maintaining stability. Bugti expressed confidence that with public cooperation, guidance from religious scholars, and the tireless efforts of security institutions, peace, harmony, and brotherhood in Balochistan would be further strengthened.

Reflecting on the spiritual significance of Ashura, the Chief Minister said the day teaches lessons of truth, patience, sacrifice, and steadfastness against injustice. He noted that the supreme sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions remains a beacon of guidance for humanity, inspiring values of justice and resilience.

Sarfraz Bugti also paid tribute to the officers and personnel of police, FC, army, and other agencies performing security duties, commending their professionalism and commitment. He directed all institutions to remain vigilant and fully prepared to protect citizens and maintain a peaceful environment throughout the province.
