ABAD Chairman Welcomes PM’s Apna Ghar Initiative, says it unlocks dream of own homes for millions

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Welcoming the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar scheme, ABAD Chairman Mohammed Hassan Bakshi on Thursday termed it a “right moment, right step,” saying the initiative comes at a crucial time, promising economic uplift, job creation and renewed hope for families aspiring to own a home.

During an exclusive interview with a local media outlet, Mohammed Hassan Bakshi praised the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Initiative, terming it a “historic boost” for millions aspiring to own homes, adding, the initiative reflects a timely and much-needed intervention in the housing sector.

Bakshi praised the Prime Minister for introducing what he described as a visionary and people-friendly scheme, saying it carries the potential to transform the lives of ordinary citizens.

He added that affordable housing has long been a key challenge and the new initiative addresses this gap in a meaningful way.

He further stated that the Apna Ghar Initiative will not only help fulfill the dream of home-ownership but will also unlock significant employment opportunities across the construction and allied industries.

According to him, the ripple effects will strengthen economic activity and support broader national growth.

Expressing appreciation for the Prime Minister’s leadership, Bakshi said the initiative will contribute to the progress and modernization of the housing sector, while boosting investor confidence and creating a more dynamic real estate environment.

He also explained the program and its financing structure, noting that all commercial banks, Islamic banks, micro finance banks and the House Building Finance Company Limited have been designated as participating financial institutions (PFIs).
