Abbottabad traffic police unveils detailed plan for Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr festivities

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) In a bid to ensure hassle-free movement and public safety during the upcoming Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, the Abbottabad Traffic Police has rolled out a comprehensive traffic management strategy.

Led by SSP Traffic Ishtiaq Khan, the plan will see over 350 traffic police officers and personnel deployed across the district during the festive period. The force will be positioned at critical points including Havelian, City Area, Supply, Mandian, Galiyat, and other busy locations to keep traffic flowing smoothly and prevent congestion amid the expected surge of vehicles.

Issuing clear directives to Traffic Circle DSPs, Inspectors, and Beat In-charges, SSP Ishtiaq Khan emphasized full utilization of all resources to maintain uninterrupted traffic on Chand Raat night. He instructed strict yet effective management of traffic in the main city as well as popular tourist spots during Eid days.

The SSP further stressed the importance of courteous and polite behaviour towards the public while on duty, leaving no room for any complaints or misconduct.

With families gearing up for Eid shopping, visits to relatives, and outings to scenic Galiyat areas, the plan is designed to handle the heavy rush and promote road safety.

Traffic Police officials appealed to motorists and commuters to strictly follow traffic rules, avoid over-speeding, rash driving, and unnecessary honking, and cooperate with on-duty personnel for everyone’s convenience.
