QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) Balochistan Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has described Pakistan Day as a defining moment in the history of Muslims in South Asia, calling March 23, 1940 a milestone that laid the foundation for an independent homeland.

In his message, Khetran noted that the visionary leadership of Muslim leaders of the subcontinent demonstrated unwavering resolve in pursuing a separate state. He highlighted the role of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, under whose leadership Muslims envisioned a nation where they could live with freedom, dignity, and self-respect.

Referring to the Lahore Resolution, Abdul Rehman Khetran said the landmark development strengthened the determination of Muslims, ultimately leading to the emergence of Pakistan on August 14, 1947—just seven years later.

Acknowledging Pakistan’s challenges throughout its history, he said the nation has consistently overcome adversity through resilience and determination. He pointed to Pakistan’s journey from a newly independent state to a nuclear power as evidence of the strength and resolve of its people.

The minister emphasized that the national journey is far from complete, urging continued efforts to elevate Pakistan to greater heights of development.

He credited the leadership of the prime minister and his team for steering the economy toward sustainable growth through bold reforms and prudent policies. Improvements in inflation, investment, and key economic indicators, he said, are contributing to stability.

Paying tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and security personnel, Khetran said their contributions have been vital in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and stability.

He added that Pakistan Day serves as a reminder to strengthen national resolve and uphold the values of sacrifice, perseverance, and unity. Expressing optimism, he said Pakistan is endowed with immense potential, and by working together, the nation can achieve economic prosperity, social justice, and global prominence.

Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran expressed confidence that no challenge is insurmountable if the nation remains united and committed to its ideals. Through determination, hard work, and a shared vision, he said, Pakistan can emerge as a strong, prosperous, and developed nation.
