HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jun, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner-I, Shaheed Benazirabad, Saddam Hussain Memon, chaired an important meeting on health Issues at Durbar Hall Monday.

The meeting reviewed in detail healthcare facilities across the district, pediatric healthcare services, blood bank operations, facilities being provided to thalassemia patients, availability of medicines, and the performance of healthcare centers.

Addressing the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Saddam Hussain Memon said that the provision of quality and safe healthcare services to public is the foremost priority of district administration.

He directed concerned officials to further improve treatment facilities in both public and private hospitals, ensure that emergency services remain fully operational at all times, and strictly enforce quality and safety standards in blood banks. He also instructed relevant institutions to make actions against illegal medical activities, unregistered healthcare centers, and providers of substandard medical services more effective.

The meeting also emphasized children's healthcare, the provision of safe blood, treatment facilities for thalassemia patients, and the promotion of better coordination among healthcare institutions.

Additional Deputy Commissioner said that all concerned organizations should work in close collaboration and under a coordinated strategy to provide improved healthcare facilities and make the public health system more effective and people-friendly.

The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr. Mudassar Hussain, Medical Superintendent PMCH Nawabshah Dr. Yar Ali Jamali, District Manager PPHI Muhammad Zakir Samo, representatives of Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority, Sindh Healthcare Commission, ChildLife Foundation, Thalassemia Welfare Society, Dr. Sadiq Siyal, Ghulam Nabi Channa, as well as representatives of private medical centers, blood banks, and other relevant institutions.
