ADC orders review of hazardous U-turns on Murree Expressway

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) General Murree, Kamran Sagheer has called for comprehensive planning to remove hazardous bends and poorly placed U-turns on the Murree Expressway, citing their role in frequent accidents.

He was conducting a detailed inspection of the expressway on Tuesday to assess traffic issues and identify risks associated with road design.

The local residents and representatives informed him of concerns about unsafe U-turn locations, heavy traffic congestion, and recurring accidents. He assured them that immediate steps would be taken to address the issues.

The ADC directed the officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA) to take prompt and effective measures to improve road safety and facilitate smooth travel.

He said that, given Murree’s status as a major tourist destination, increasing traffic volumes required the introduction of a modern traffic management system. Kamaran also stressed the need for improved signboards, proper road signage and effective deployment of traffic police.

He emphasized that remedial measures should be completed at the earliest to ensure safer and more convenient travel for the public.
