ADC reviews price magistrates’ performance

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) The performance of price magistrates was reviewed in a meeting held at the DC Office Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Naeem Bashir. The session provided a detailed assessment of ongoing price control operations in the city.

During the meeting, it was informed that in the past four weeks, price magistrates conducted 79,863 inspections.

During this period, 33 profiteers were arrested, and 17 shops were sealed for violating government-notified prices.

Fines totaling Rs3.82 million were imposed on 1,652 shopkeepers, while 12,862 others received warning notices for overcharging.

Naeem Bashir directed officials to strengthen price control measures to provide maximum relief to the public. He emphasized that strict action against profiteers would continue and that any negligence in enforcing government prices would not be tolerated.
