Adult cardiac surgery program delivering results as per CM’s vision: Kh Salman

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that patients enrolled in the Adult Cardiac Surgery Programme have started receiving positive results in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

He expressed these views during his visit to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology on Wednesday, where he met an elderly patient who had come for surgery under the Adult Chief Minister’s Cardiac Surgery Program. The minister also handed over a program card to the patient.

During the visit, Khawaja Salman Rafique reviewed the system for the supply of medicines to the homes of heart disease patients. He met with the staff and directed them to further improve the system to ensure better service delivery.

Speaking on the occasion, the health minister said that, God willing, the waiting list of thousands of patients awaiting surgery under the program would be significantly reduced.

He added that the historic and revolutionary health initiatives introduced by the Chief Minister would prove to be a game changer.

He further stated that the Punjab government has provided treatment worth billions of rupees to thousands of patients through unique healthcare programs.

Chairman of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Advisory Committee on Cardiology Dr. Farqad Alamgir, Special Secretary Operations Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical education Nabila Irfan, Executive Director PIC Professor Bilal Mohiuddin, MS Dr. Aamir Rafique Butt, Professor Ahmed Noman, Dr. Syed Imran, and other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
