Hussainia Conference : Speakers pay rich tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA)

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) The 48th annual Hussainia Conference, a longstanding platform for inter-faith harmony and the promotion of the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), was held in Multan with the participation of religious scholars, political leaders and social figures from different schools of thought.

The conference had been organised since 1979 in the city on 9th of Muharram. Among those who addressed the gathering were MNA Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi, MPA Nadeem Qureshi, Khawar Hasnain Bhutta, Dr Ghazanfar Mehdi, Zain Baloch, Allama Hidayatullah Rehmani, Allama Hanan Haideri, Rao Abdul Qayyum, Tariq Raza Qadri, Sibtain Raza Lodhi, Syed Zahid Hussain Gardezi , Shahid Ansari and many others.

Speakers highlighted the philosophy of courage and sacrifice demonstrated by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), saying his message continues to inspire humanity to stand against oppression and uphold truth and peace.

Addressing the conference, Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi paid tribute to the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts during the recent Iran-US tensions. He said Pakistan played a constructive role in promoting dialogue and peace, adding that such efforts contribute to regional and global peace as well as stability.

Chief Organizer Zain Baloch said the Hussainia Conference has been serving as a unique forum for unity and harmony by bringing together scholars and leaders from diverse schools of thought to spread the message of peace and mutual respect.

The speakers emphasized that the conference continues to play an important role in fostering inter-sect harmony and projecting from Multan a strong message of unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
