ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday emphasized the need to construct water reservoirs across the country to address water challenges.

Speaking to a private television channel, he said reservoirs should be built at multiple locations, adding that there are proposals to construct one near the Chenab River.

Commenting on regional water disputes, Sanaullah cautioned against India’s alleged use of water as a strategic tool.

He noted that Pakistan has the option to raise such concerns at international forums and warned that appropriate action could be taken if India attempts to halt water flows into Pakistan.

Responding to a question on the US-Iran tensions, he said Pakistan’s leadership has made sincere efforts to facilitate dialogue between the two countries.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role in promoting lasting peace in the region.
