FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) In a major push to modernize urban sanitation, the Suthra Punjab Agency has introduced an advanced digital monitoring system across Faisalabad division which is integrating artificial intelligence and real-time tracking to ensure efficient cleanliness operations in all four districts.
Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA) Abid Hussain Bhatti said that this initiative is being implemented under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz to further strengthen the cleanliness system and ensure improvement in service delivery.
Speaking during a visit to central control room, he said that AI-drive monitoring transforms sanitation system and now sanitation operations are being monitored through a comprehensive digital framework featuring facial recognition, GPS tracking, AI-based surveillance and a robust complaint redressal mechanism.
The citizens could register complaints through helpline 1139, WhatsApp number 0300-0191139 and a dedicated mobile application, he added.
He directed the operations head to ensure strict monitoring of live vehicle tracking across all Tehsils, emphasizing that field performance must be observed continuously through digital system.
He also ordered an increase in the duration of control room staff shifts to enhance operational efficiency and round-the-clock oversight.
Highlighting transparency and accountability, Abid Bhatti instructed that digital weighing systems at landfill sites must be monitored in real time to prevent discrepancies and ensure proper waste management.
He further announced an extension in duty hours of waste workers in commercial markets by two hours and directed that evening shifts should continue until 10 p.m. to provide clean environment for shoppers and business activities.
The integration of modern technology into sanitation management would significantly improve operational effectiveness and help achieve the vision of a cleaner and healthier Punjab, he added.
