Airport police seize large quantity of fireworks, dealer arrested

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Police have arrested a firecracker dealer and recovered a large quantity of fireworks from his possession during an operation in the jurisdiction of Airport police station here on Thursday.

According to a police spokesman, the Airport Police intercepted a suspicious truck during patrolling and recovered a large quantity of fireworks worth thousands of rupees.

The suspect, taken into custody at the scene, disclosed during initial interrogation that he had been supplying fireworks to various parts of the city, the spokesman said.

Police have registered a case against the suspect and confiscated the vehicle also.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan commended police team for their swift action and professionalism and said the suspect would be presented in court with solid evidence.

He added that those endangering lives through the illegal use and supply of fireworks would not escape the law.
