AJK CJ inaugurates spring tree plantation drive, emphasizes role of tree plantation in combating climate change

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 3rd Apr, 2026) Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Saeed Akram Khan here Friday while inaugurating the Spring Tree Plantation Drive, said that since trees and humans stand inseparable from each other and keeping in view the negative consequences of the current global climate change, as a nation, every individual will have to play his role in maximum tree plantation and tree cultivation to make the green and prosperous.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, besides Senior Judge if the AJK Supreme Court Justice Raza Ali Khan and Judge of tge apex court Justice Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry inaugurated the national spring tree plantation campaign by planting sapplings of trees of various kinds at the District Court premises.

The national tree plantation campaig has neen started in the Division on Friday under the auspices of the Forest Department Division Mirpur.

The ceremony was attended among others by Additional Advocate General Raja Muhammad Nadeem Khan, DC Raja Muhammad Sadaqat Khan, SSP Khurram Iqbal, President High Court Bar Association Raja Waseem Younis Advocate, Nazim Forest Raja Zahid Hussain Khan, Nazim Forest Raja Jahanzeb Khizer, DFO Raja Akram Subhani, former Vice Chairman Bar Council Raja Khalid Mahmood Khan, officials of the District Bar Association and senior lawyers.
