AJK Election Commission advises political parties' candidates and independent candidates to strictly adhere to the Code of Conduct

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jul, 2026) Azad Jammu Kashmir Election Commission on Friday urged all candidates, political parties, and their supporters to strictly comply with the election laws, the code of conduct, and the directives issued by the Commission to ensure that the elections are held in a peaceful, transparent, free, and fair environment, it was officially said.

The AJK EC also announced that the election campaign for the July 27, 2026, general elections in Mirpur Division will officially end at 12:00 midnight between July 25 and 26.

Talking to APP here on Friday, an AJK Election Commission spokesperson informed all contesting candidates, political parties, election agents, workers, and the general public that, under Section 112 of the AJK Election Act, no public meetings, rallies, processions, corner meetings, or any other form of election gathering will be allowed in the respective Constituencies after the campaign period expires.

The press release warned that any violation of the election laws or the code of conduct would invite strict legal action in accordance with the relevant provisions of the law.
