AJK PM grants ownership rights to LoC victims settled in Jinyal

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore on Sunday announced ownership rights for families affected by Line of Control shelling and resettled in Jinyal, Mirpur, fulfilling a long-pending demand of displaced residents.

Addressing a ceremony in Jinyal, the prime minister said the affected families were forced to leave their homes due to cross-border shelling and had been living temporarily in the area for years. He said a formal notification had now been issued, declaring them rightful owners of the land where they have been residing.

He paid tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the affected families and said the decision represents long-overdue justice for those who endured hardship due to conflict along the Line of Control.

He also announced the establishment of a basic health facility in Jinyal to improve local healthcare services.

The prime minister said the government is committed to public welfare, improved service delivery and strengthening trust between the state and citizens. He added that development initiatives are being pursued as a priority to address public needs and improve living standards across the region.
