AJK PM pays glowing tribute to Allama Iqbal on his death anniversary

MUZAFFARABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2026) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has paid glowing tributes to poet and philosopher Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal on his death anniversary.

In his message, the prime minister said that Iqbal was a gifted poet, great intellectual, thinker, and philosopher par excellence who conceptualized and presented the idea of a separate homeland (Pakistan) and awakened the spirit of Muslim nationhood among the Muslims of the subcontinent.

Referring to Allama Iqbal’s multidimensional personality, he said that Iqbal, being an ideological and intellectual architect of Pakistan, played a key role in the political awakening of the Muslims of the subcontinent and infused in them the spirit of freedom, self-dependence, and self-realization.

Highlighting his universal message of unity, he said that Iqbal encouraged Muslims to actively explore and find ways and means to meet the new demands of life.

“As a son of the soil, Iqbal specifically highlighted the suffering and plight of the Kashmiri people in his poetry,” the prime minister said, adding that he also gave voice to the aspirations of Kashmiris.

He further said that Iqbal's teachings serve as a great source of inspiration for all, especially the youth, whom he described as the future of the nation. He urged the younger generation to study Allama Iqbal’s philosophy and inculcate within themselves the spirit of "Khudi."
