ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) Ali Muhammad Khan, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Wednesday called for unity across the Muslim world, saying the Ummah was facing a critical test amid regional tensions and violence in the middle East.

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, he recalled the national unity demonstrated during the Pakistan-India war May 2025, when both the government and opposition stood together and delivered a unified response.

He said that collective resolve had strengthened Pakistan’s position and enabled its armed forces to counter the adversary effectively.

He said the current situation posed an even greater challenge, pointing to what he described as ongoing aggression by Israel against Muslims, particularly in the Gaza Strip, as well as actions targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He criticised Israeli policies and accused it of sustained violence against Palestinians.

Highlighting Pakistan’s stance during recent tensions involving Iran and the United States, he appreciated that political and religious parties in Pakistan had set aside their differences and stood in solidarity with Tehran.

He said the acknowledgement and gratitude expressed by the Iranian leadership and the public reflected Pakistan’s principled position.

He emphasised that Pakistan had a significant role to play in leading the Muslim Ummah but stressed that this required rising above political, sectarian, and ideological divisions. “Unity is essential for the protection of the sanctity of Muslim holy places,” he said.

The PTI leader praised the resilience of the Iranian nation and its leadership, saying they had demonstrated steadfastness. He added that members of Pakistan’s parliament, across party lines—including leaders from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) and PTI—had visited the Iranian embassy to express solidarity during times of escalation.

Ali Muhammad Khan reiterated that Pakistan’s response to regional crises had been driven by national interest rather than political affiliation, urging continued unity to confront emerging challenges.
