Ameer Muqam announces Rs1m compensation, orders transparent probe into Hattar deadly gas explosion

HATTAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON and President of PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Ameer Muqam Friday visited the site of the gas pipeline explosion near Hattar Industrial Estate and announced financial assistance for the victims on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the announcement, Rs1 million will be provided to the families of each deceased, while Rs500,000 will be given to the injured.

During the visit, the federal minister inspected the affected area and received a detailed briefing from officials. He also visited the homes of the victims, met the bereaved families, expressed condolences, and offered prayers for the departed souls and the recovery of the injured.

Member of the National Assembly Babar Nawaz Khan and other local elders were also present on the occasion.

Expressing deep grief over the tragic incident, Ameer Muqam said the federal government stands with the affected families and will provide all possible support.

He directed authorities to conduct an immediate and transparent inquiry into the incident and submit a report to identify the causes and ensure action against those responsible.

The minister also condemned the reported violence against a police official during the rescue operation and said strict action would be taken after consultation with the Inspector General of Police.
