Another free food point set up in Multan for poor people

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) A new free food distribution point under the “Man-o-Salwa” initiative has been

inaugurated in the city to provide meals to deserving people with dignity.

Commissioner Aamir Kareem Khan inaugurated the fifth “Man-o-Salwa” point established

with the cooperation of philanthropists at Bosan road near Bahauddin Zakariya

University (BZU), Agriculture College gate.

Aimed at providing free meals to underprivileged and daily wage earners across the city,

the commissioner said a freezer system has been installed outside the RIMS Institute to ensure

that food remains preserved and is distributed respectfully among those in need.

He added that the first four “Man-o-Salwa” points are already functioning successfully in

WAPDA Colony, Industrial Estate, Goal Bagh and Nawan Shehr areas.

Hundreds of labourers and daily wage workers are benefiting from the welfare initiative every day.

The free meal initiative is a strong example of community partnership and social

responsibility, he added.

He announced to set up more Man-o-Salwa points would be set up in the city with the support

of the business community.

Commissioner Khan encouraged citizens to contribute by donating clean and properly packed leftover food so that it can reach those in need and become a continuous act of charity.
