Another Major breakthrough in “Nijat Mehran” operation, one hostage rescued

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) In a significant development under the ongoing “Nijat Mehran” operation against dacoits, police on Saturday have safely recovered a hostage, Sadaqat, son of Muhammad Amin Arain, resident of Shah Kot, Nankana Sahib (Punjab).

The operation was led by DIG Larkana/Sukkur Nasir Aftab with the joint efforts of Larkana/Sukkur Range Police, Sindh Rangers, and a Federal civil intelligence agency.

During the action, law enforcement teams stormed the hideouts of the kidnappers, set them on fire, and demolished them.

According to DIG Nasir Aftab, the operation will continue until the complete elimination or surrender of the dacoits. “This success reflects our firm resolve to restore peace and protect citizens’ lives and property,” he stated.

The recovered hostage was handed over to his family after medical examination, while search operations in the surrounding areas are still underway.
