GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) On the special directions of Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, the Child Protection Bureau carried out an anti-begging drive at different locations in the district and rescued 13 children.
According to official sources, the operation was conducted at Kutchery Chowk, Jalalpur Jattan Road, Shah Jahangir Road and Service Mor.
The drive was carried out jointly by teams of Child Protection Bureau Gujranwala, Labour Department, Rescue 1122, Gujrat Police and Social Welfare Department.
During the operation, 13 children involved in begging were rescued and shifted to Gujranwala for further legal and welfare action.
The district administration said that such operations will continue to stop child begging and ensure protection and rehabilitation of children.
