QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Youth Forum for Kashmir leader Bilal Riki on Thursday said that April 10, 1993, is remembered as a very sad and painful day in the history of the Kashmiri people.
In his statement, he said that the incident that took place in Lal Chowk, Srinagar on that day set a painful example of fear, destruction and human tragedy in the region.
He said that during this incident, several houses were set on fire, as a result of which a large number of people were affected, including women and children, while many families were made homeless. This tragedy is still a symbol of deep shock and sorrow for the Kashmiri people.
Bilal Riki said that this incident requires the attention of the international community, so that an impartial investigation into such incidents could be ensured and justice would be provided to the victims.
He said that highlighting human rights issues in Kashmir was the need of the hour, adding that the Lal Chowk tragedy was a clear symbol of the struggle and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people. On this occasion, it is important to remember these sacrifices and take serious steps to establish lasting peace and justice in the region, he expressed.
He said that it was the common responsibility of all of us to raise our voices at the global level while expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people so that peace, justice and human dignity could be ensured in the region.
