Artist Support Fund: artists get financial assistance

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) On the directions of the Punjab government, four artists of Bahawalpur have been

provided with financial assistance under the Artist Support Fund.

According to an official press release issued here, a total of Rs 900,000 in financial

assistance was distributed among four deserving artists from Bahawalpur under

the Artist Support Fund.

Dr Nasir Hameed, Director of the Punjab Council of the Arts, presented cheques of Rs 200,000

each to artists Muhammad Ajmal, Hameeda Bibi, and Shabbir Shah to support their medical

treatment,” the press release said, adding that artist Maqbool Hussain received

a cheque of Rs 300,000 to assist with his daughter's wedding expenses.

The artists expressed their gratitude to the government of Punjab.
