ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Thursday paid profound tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the Ahl-e-Bait (AS), and the martyrs of Karbala on the occasion of Ashura, terming the tragedy of Karbala as one of the most defining chapters in Islamic history and an enduring beacon of courage, righteousness and moral conviction.

The Speaker said that the sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his devoted companions transcends the boundaries of time, offering a universal lesson in dignity, perseverance and unwavering commitment to truth.

He said that rather than submitting to tyranny and injustice, the martyrs of Karbala chose the path of honour and principle, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations across the world.

Ayaz Sadiq said that the message of Karbala serves as a powerful reminder that justice, compassion, tolerance and mutual respect are the foundations upon which peaceful and progressive societies are built.

He emphasized that contemporary challenges such as extremism, intolerance and violence can only be overcome through unity, collective resolve and adherence to the values that promote social harmony and national cohesion.

Expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine and Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, he said that their continued struggle for justice, dignity and the realization of their legitimate rights echoes the universal principles embodied by the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).

He said that standing against oppression, defending human rights and remaining steadfast in the face of adversity reflect the true spirit of Karbala and its enduring relevance in today's world.

The Speaker further underscored the importance of fostering unity, understanding and mutual respect among the Muslim Ummah, saying that the challenges confronting the Islamic world require collective wisdom, solidarity and a shared commitment to peace and justice.

On this occasion, Deputy Speaker, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also paid tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the Ahl-e-Bait (AS), and the martyrs of Karbala.

He said that Karbala represents a universal message of truth, justice, freedom and human dignity, adding that the spirit of sacrifice, courage and steadfastness demonstrated by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) will continue to inspire humanity for generations to come.

Mustafa Shah said that the tragedy of Karbala teaches the enduring lesson of standing firm in the defence of truth and justice, regardless of the challenges and sacrifices involved.

He called upon the people to embrace the values of unity, brotherhood and mutual respect and to uphold the noble ideals exemplified by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.
