ATC confirms bail of lawyers in protest case

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Thursday confirmed the bail of former President of the Islamabad High Court Bar, Riasat Ali Azad, and other lawyers in a case registered against them over protests held on the occasion of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain heard the bail pleas.

During the proceedings, defence counsel argued that no specific role had been attributed to the accused in the case.

The lawyers further pointed out that bail had already been granted to other co-accused, including Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha, in the same case.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court confirmed the bail of the accused lawyers.

A case against the lawyers was registered at Secretariat Police Station.
