LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday extended the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder’s sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, along with former Federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Umar, Azam Khan Swati and other accused, until May 7 in cases related to the May 9 riots, including the burning of the Pakistan Muslim League-N office and torching of a container at Kalma Chowk.
The hearing was conducted by ATC duty Judge Manzer Ali Gill, who directed defence counsel to complete arguments on the bail petitions at the next hearing.
During proceedings, Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and Musarrat Jamshed Cheema appeared before the court and marked their attendance, after which their interim bail was extended.
Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Umar and Azam Khan Swati did not appear in person, while their lawyers filed one-day exemption requests, which the court accepted.
According to the prosecution, investigation officers of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) have already submitted their report, in which Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan and other accused have been nominated as culpable.
Other accused seeking interim bail include Hafiz Farhat Abbas, Bilal Ejaz, Rai Hassan Nawaz, Ali Imtiaz Warraich, Muhammad Ahmad Chattha, Muhammad Ashraf Sohna, and Rai Murtaza Iqbal.
