Department of Soil Science at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Multan organized a tree plantation drive and awareness walk in collaboration with the Progressive Climate Foundation

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) Department of Soil Science at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Multan organized a tree plantation drive and awareness walk in collaboration with the Progressive Climate Foundation.

Dean Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Dr. Nazim Hussain , along with Chairman Dr. Abdul Rahim, Prof. Dr. Zafar Elahi Gondal, Dr. Muhammad Farooq Qayyum, Dr. Shahid Hussain, Dr. Haseeb, Dr. Muhammad Aoun, and Dr. Sajid Masood, participated in the event. A large number of students and staff were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nazim emphasized that tree plantation was vital for both present and future generations.

He highlighted the need to reduce the negative impacts of climate change by planting more trees and adopting environmentally responsible practices.

A representative of the Progressive Climate Foundation said the organization aimed to raise public awareness about environmental protection and promote eco-friendly initiatives.

At the end of the event, participants planted saplings and took part in an awareness walk, carrying placards with messages about environmental protection and reaffirming their commitment to a greener future.
