Baitul Mall, HMC ink MoU for implant surgery

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday between Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar to provide free cochlear implant surgeries and related medical facilities to deserving and hearing-impaired patients

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday between Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar to provide free cochlear implant surgeries and related medical facilities to deserving and hearing-impaired patients.

According to the HMC spokesperson, the MoU was signed by Director Lal Badshah on behalf of Pakistan Baitul Mal and Hospital Director Colonel (Retd.) Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Khan on behalf of Hayatabad Medical Complex.

Associate Professor Dr. Saeed Khan, Chairman of Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Department, was also present on the occasion.

Under the agreement, Pakistan Baitul Mal will bear the expenses of cochlear implant surgeries and post-operative care for deserving, underprivileged, and hearing-impaired children, especially those who are congenitally deaf.

This initiative reflects the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to providing quality and accessible healthcare services to vulnerable segments of society.

MTI – Hayatabad Medical Complex, as a leading teaching and healthcare institution, will provide comprehensive medical services related to cochlear implants, including diagnostic evaluation, surgical procedures, and post-operative rehabilitation and follow-up.

The hospital will also ensure the availability of all necessary medical facilities and technical support to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Both institutions expressed their commitment to promoting mutual cooperation under the terms of the MoU to improve healthcare services for hearing-impaired patients.

This partnership is expected to significantly enhance access to modern hearing rehabilitation treatments for financially disadvantaged individuals in the region.

This initiative marks an important step toward promoting inclusive healthcare, reducing the burden of hearing disabilities, and improving the quality of life for affected children and their families.
